Lots of ways to volunteer!
Hope Clinic could not function without our dedicated volunteers, and we always have room for more! The clinic is open every Thursday from 4:30pm-8:30pm, but we also need volunteers in the office throughout the week.
We are flexible and will work with your schedule, whether you're able to volunteer one evening a month, every other month, or every week... whatever works for your schedule! We promise you lots of love, appreciation, and maybe even chocolate! One-on-one training is provided for all of our positions. Interested in hearing more?
Email our volunteer coordinator here. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you to set up a time for you to visit and find out more about our available jobs and what you're interested in. If you know you’re ready to get started, you can go ahead and download our volunteer packet to complete and bring in with you.
Clinical Needs
We are always in need of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, CMA, CNA, Lab Techs, Pharmacy Techs, and Therapists to work on Thursday clinic nights anywhere from 4:30-8:30pm. Your schedule is built around your availability, whether it's once a week, once a month, or once a quarter. There are no minimum requirements.
Currently, our biggest need is Physicians, PAs, and NPs. If you have a couple of hours to spare – even every couple of months – our patients would be so grateful! We promise to feed you and let you know that your valuable time is most appreciated.
Non-Clinical Needs
Sticker Slapping
Yes, it's as fun as it sounds! You'll work in the pharmacy on clinic nights (Thursdays) from about 5pm to 8pm. The pharmacist fills the prescriptions, and you'll prepare the bottles for pick-up, call the patient over the intercom (your chance to shine if you want to sing the names!), and get the patient's signature when they pick up their medicine(s).
Receptionists
Receptionists are our meet & greeters for patients on clinic nights. You'll work from about 4:15pm-7:30pm checking in patients and getting their chart to the clinic nurses.
Behind the Scenes & Special Events
Our non-clinical volunteers are just as important as our clinic night volunteers! We have a wide range of jobs that need to be done every week, as well as the occasional special event, etc. Almost all of the jobs require that you be at the clinic office in Bayboro, but the hours are pretty flexible.
Some of our ongoing jobs include:
-
New Beginnings Support Group Facilitators
-
Special Projects
-
Transportation
-
Fundraising
-
Board of Directors
Special Events
Every couple of months, Hope Clinic hosts or is part of a community event. Community volunteers are always needed to work in booths, help with set-up or tear-down, check-in, etc.
Don't be shy.
If you're passionate about helping people, please reach out. We are a happy bunch and try to include as much fun and food as possible for all of our volunteers.
